Banana Nut Bread Recipe!

Want some yummy Banana Nut Bread??
Oh I know you do! This recipe is quick, easy and my son says yummy. I unfortuantly do not like nuts, therefore I just enjoy the delightful smell that fills my kitchen whenever I make this for him. And it looks good too!

What you will need:
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup softened butter
2 eggs
1/4 teaspooon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 1/2 cups of flour
3 ripe bananas
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

I didn't have any baking powder on hand at the time so I just added baking soda twice. ;) I didn't notice a difference in this one and the one with the baking powder I made later.

Step 1:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together sugar, butter and eggs.

Step 2:
Add flour, baking powder and baking soda.

Step 3:
Add in the smashed bananas (I use my hand and just squish them and dump them in the bowl), vanilla, and nuts. (You can use any nuts that you want, we chose Pecans. Also bought them pre chopped!)

Step 4:
Pour batter into greased loaf pan.

Step 5:
Bake for one hour.

Step 6:
EAT! Notice half the loaf gone already. This definitely doesn't last long, he eats it all within a day or two. Silly guy!

Soft Molasses Cookies Recipe

Don't those look yummy?

I still remember the first time I had a molasses cookie! My friend Tiffany had made home made pizza that was so delicious! But she also had these little treasures too! I wanted to eat the whole bag, but thought that wasn't too polite. =) That day was all together inspiring, to get my butt in the kitchen and make some delicious food! I'm trying, slower then I'd like, but still trying. So I thought for Davids birthday "party" I'd make some molasses cookies! And since Tiffany and Roger and the family had moved here and were coming over they can tell me if I made them right! And I did! Everyone liked them. =)

So lets get started!

What you will need:
1 cup of packed brown sugar
3/4 cup of shortening
1/4 cup of molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons of baking soda
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon of salt
granulated sugar

Makes about 24 cookies!

Step 1:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Step 2:
Gather ingredients.

Step 3:
In large bowl, beat brown sugar, shortening, molasses and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon.

Step 4:
Stir in remaining ingredients except granulated sugar.

Step 5:
Sprinkle a little bit of sugar onto small plate.

Step 6:
Shape dough into small balls

Step 7:
Dip the balls into the sugar, one side only. Just to coat the top.

Step 8:
Place on baking sheet.

Step 9:
Bake for 13 to 16 minutes.
I bake mine for 13 minutes and they come out perfect.
They should be soft and moist on the inside.

Step 10:
Done, eat!
Eat them all because they are that good!
Soft Molasses Recipe was found on the Betty Crocker website, must give them a shout out for awesome cookies!
