Manic Monday!

What are you grateful for today?
--I am grateful for my son and the beautiful weather and the Phillies Home Opener today!

What's missing in your life?

--a certain service member stationed in Hawaii.

Has the conflict and harm religion has caused outweighed the good it has produced?

--As an American I think I would be a little biased as I have not seen much harm and conflict over religion as some other countries have. As with anything, the bad comes with the good. So for me I believe the good outweighs the harm in the long run.

Fabric Stash and Craft Room Love

I love love love seeing other peoples fabric stash and getting jealous at all the yummy fabric they have.
And all of the wonderful craft rooms people have.
Makes me sad sometimes because I had a beautiful house down south with a wonderful craft room...but thats a whole other store
So now I have a corner and a closet in my two bedroom apartment in Philadelphia. I think I made due pretty well. =)

Now if only I could convince my landlord to let me buy fabric rather then pay rent and then I'd be in heaven!

Meet my fabric stash. Well most of it.
Oh yes and my sewing machine. Yes that is a tv dinner tray thing.

On top is where I collect a few finished projects that I have yet to put away.
New fabric I swear I'm going to use every night.
And half finished projects. I have more of those then anything else. haha

Mom Tip-#1

Sure its not a fancy spice rack. Heck its not even a spice rack at all.
But it does the job and its inexpensive.

Since I have limited counter space I put my spices in my cabinet.
The other day I was going through all of my sons baby items and found his old baby food jar holder. =)
*light bulb moment*
I ran over to the kitchen and took out all of my spices from the cabinet and lined them all up on this jarred food holder.
Perfect!!!

Four things I love about this compared to other expensive spice racks:
1.The levels heights are adjustable. Making it easier to store some large spice jars.
2.It swivels. yay!!! no more hidden spices in the back.
3. Its inexpensive. If its going to be hidden in a cabinet, why does it need to be flashy?
4.It can hold 21 different jars of spices!!

You can buy these baby food jars at Kmart for $8.00!

or you can get this one for $40 at Target.
ps it only holds 16 jars.

Monkey Munch Recipe!

One of my favorite snacks to munch on!
I originally saw Kate, from TLC's Jon and Kate plus 8 make this on their show and had to have some for myself.

Here is her recipe for this delicious snack:
9 cups of Chex cereal
1 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup of peanut butter
1/4 cup of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
1 large plastic freezer bag

Step one
Put Chex cereal into plastic bag.

Step two
Place chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter into quart sized bowl.

Step three
Stir ingredients together

Step four
Microwave mixture uncovered for a minute on high. Stir mix again and continue to zap it in thirty second intervals until it mixes smooth.
[I only need to microwave it once for one minute and its good to go]

Step five
Add the vanilla and stir.

Step six
Pour over cereal close bag and shake until evenly distributed.
[It will look like this...]

Step seven
Add powdered sugar, seal the bag and shake until evenly distributed.
[It will look like this...]

Step nine
Stick bag in fridge for a little while to cool and harded the chocolate mixture.

Step ten
Open bag and enjoy! =)
